Finances
Financial Governance
Our Finances are managed by our Honorary Treasurer supported by our Committee. Financial reports are presented at each Committee Meeting and annual accounts are independently audited and presented to our Church Members at our AGM.
Income & Expenditure
Church expenses are paid for through the support of weekly, monthly or annual voluntary contributions, along with one-off gifts and legacies. Weekly contributions are generally received through the freewill offering via the collection plate.
If you are in a position to contribute to the freewill offering, it's particular helpful if you sign-up for the envelope scheme or contribute via standing order so that all contributions are fully traceable. Please contact our Treasurer if you would like a set of envelopes. If you contribute via standing order, laminated cards are available prior to our services for placing on the collection plate if you so desire. These cards state that your contribution has already been made.
If you would like to contribute via standing order, the church's bank account details are as follows:
SWIFT/BIC: AIBKIE2D
IBAN: IE93AIBK93361964489003
IBAN: IE93AIBK93361964489003
One-off Donations
We are always delighted to receive one-off donations - Visitors may not have the correct currency when attending a service, or may not have cash at all. We have partnered with Sumup to receive electronic payments via Debit or Credit cards - please use the button below if you like to make a donation in this way
Tax Refunds
Total annual donations in excess of €250 benefit the church with a refund from the Irish Revenue Commissioners based on a blended tax rate of 31%. A total donation of €1,000 would be "grossed up" at this rate as follows:
€1,000 / (100-31) * 100 = €1,449.27 therefore the tax refund to the church would be €449.27, approximately 45% extra on top of the original donation. This is at no cost to the donor.
To be able to claim this refund, we need to be able to track all donations and so we encourage the use of the weekly envelope scheme, standing orders or debit/credit card donations.
Where donations are made through the church to any specific causes, associated tax refunds are also passed on to these causes.
Presbyterian Children's Society
Our church has a long history of giving generously to the Presbyterian Children's Society which provides support to families across the 32 counties of Ireland where there are children in financial need.
World Development
The World Development Appeal is an annual initiative of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland that focuses on helping people trapped in poverty.
Each year, Greystones Presbyterian Church supports this appeal through personal giving.
The United Appeal
The United Appeal for Mission is at the very heart of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. Every aspect of the Church's mission depends to some extent on United Appeal. It supports projects, programmes and staff at home and overseas. It helps congregations and individuals to build God’s Kingdom through youth and children’s ministry, social action and the training of leaders, for example.
Greystones Presbyterian Church is proud to honour its commitment to this appeal every year through personal and church giving.
