How do we deal with life when things go wrong?
How can God allow it?
How have others coped and even found light in the darkness?
Reflections on Life, Faith and Suffering:
Talk: David Montgomery
Interview: Ruth Irvine
Music: Darren Baird
Interactiive Questions & Answers
From Chicago, Ruth Irvine has been connected with the locality through Taylor University’s Irish Studies
Program. But 6 years ago tragedy engulfed Ruth’s life and that of the Taylor community at Greystones.
Come hear her story.
New to Greystones David Montgomery, “Monty”, pastors the local Presbyterian church. He is committed
to presenting issues of faith in a way that speaks to contemporary hearts and minds. He has particular
experience of speaking to student groups in Ireland, USA and Canada about the reasonableness of
Christian faith in an age of doubt and secularism.
Darren Baird is an accomplished musician, composer, arranger and singer-songwriter. He has performed
in a number of venues including the Waterfront and King’s Hall in Belfast. But he is particularly fond of
more intimate venues like Greystones, and will bring his own unique interpretation of popular cover
versions and new compositions.
