Announcements for 7th of December, 2008

Welcome to our Service this morning We trust you will be blessed and enjoy your time with us. If you need anything or want to know anything about the church, or what we have on offer here, please speak to Rev Montgomery (Monty) or phone him on 287-4479; or email: .

Parents with children under 3 are encouraged to use our creche facilities in the Hall at the back, at any time during the service. Our creche team are on duty from the beginning of the service. For children aged 3 and upwards we have our Sunday Club programme during the second half of the service. Teens are encouraged to leave for discussion time after the sermon.

Today

We continue our Advent series from Matthew 1 & 2. This morning our congregational volunteer John O’Donnell will be speaking to us about Matthew 1:18-25: “No ordinary Birth”.

Please take time to join us for tea and coffee after the service in the hall. Naomi Gibson who will be traveling to India with the Leprosy Mission in the New Year will be selling Christmas cards to help with this project.

Living Stones, this evening, meets at 6.30pm

This Evening at 7.30pm the final part of our series Faith For Life, looking at the book of Philippians. Tonight’s topic: A Faith that brings Peace, Phil.4. Join us for praise, teaching and fellowship.

This Week @ GPC:

Monday: Christianity Explored, final meeting in 2 La Touche Park at 7.30pm.

Friday: Women’s Bible Study, at 10am, speak to Jen Robinson for details and venue

Next Sunday: (14th December). Monty will continue our advent series looking at “No Ordinary Baby Shower” (Matt.2:1-12). Children are invited to bring an unwrapped present and place it under the tree. It can then be given to a needy family over the Christmas period.

Living Stones meets next Sunday at 6.45 (note time), to go to the Inter-church Teens Event in Kill o’ the Grange Church at 7.30. Transport would be appreciated to get our young people there and back. Speak to John if you can help with this.

Musical? If you would like to take part in our Carol Service by joining our impromptu singing group (particularly if you can sing in parts) please speak to Monty or Jen today. Practices continue after this morning’s service!

Street Carol Singing. Our night for organising this traditional event, is Wednesday 17th Dec. Meet at Fenton Fires at 7.30pm.

Monty and Gwen are having a Christmas “At Home” at the Manse, 2 La Touche Park, from 4pm to 9pm on Sunday 21st December. Please pop in any time during this period. Just bring yourself!

Presbyterian Youth Teams and All-age teams to Cameroon, Mexico and Romania in 2009. Application information available in vestibule or from John.

All-age Team to Ukraine. Information available in vestibule about Presbyterian all-age team to Ukraine. Not just for young people!

A Presbyterian church from Denver, Colorado will be visiting the area over the New Year with some students. If any older member of the congregation has basic practical household work that needs to be done (painting, clearing, gardening, furniture moving) they are offering their services. Speak to Monty or Gwen.
